About
Welcome to the MAF blog. With MAF missionaries serving in some of the most remote places in the world, this blog is a timely way for MAF to share what is happening on the field as well as new initiatives out of headquarters.
On this blog you can find stories from pilots, mechanics, teachers, and learning technology specialists about how God is at work in powerful ways in these remote locales. You will also learn from MAF President and CEO John Boyd—as well as other staff serving at MAF headquarters—about the direction MAF is taking and how you can partner with this ministry.
We urge you to interact and comment about what you read. It’s always encouraging for MAF missionaries to hear that what they are doing is impacting the lives of those back home. Happy reading!

Hi! My name is Margie Berry Fogal and I am wanting to reconnect to my missionary childhood roots and my MAF family:) I am the youngest of the Berry children. My beloved brother Jack passed away on March 2, 2012. His passing was sudden and so hard. Both Jack and I were born in Siguatepeque, Honduras. Jack is now with our brother Joe (also born in Siguat), and our parents Don and Phyllis Berry. I know there is a sweet family reunion going on right now and for sure they are dancing with Jesus! I’m thinking that Jack even gave his little baby sister a “shout out” with a JUMP! When I shared with him some photos/video that I had taken on my recent trip to Honduras, returning to our birthplace this last year for the first time since we left in 1963, I had no idea what a true gift that time shared with Jack would be. For just a few hours later, I was with Jack as he drew his last breath. For those that know and love Jack, you know Jack loved Jesus! And that he also loved his family deeply! Jack loved all people! And Jack loved the Lakers, go Lakers go! In the simple way Jack loved, and in honoring the legacy of Jack’s life, my brother Joe, and my parents Don and Phyllis Berry, I believe God is calling me to a wonderful journey, an amazing adventure, and that is to tell the story of the Berry family! Telling myself right now to be brave Margie, be brave, and embracing the FUN in the JUMP – Faith Uniquely Nurtured in the Joy of Understanding My Purpose – along the way, I want to begin by sharing with you what was written in a newspaper article last Friday, March 9, on the life of Jack Berry:
